What songs should I choose for my wedding cocktail reception?

Your wedding cocktail reception is a very important part of your wedding day.

After the conclusion of the wedding ceremony, guests will mingle, drink, and enjoy Hors d’Oeuvres. The semi-formality of the wedding ceremony has passed, and it's time to relax. It's a great time to catch up with friends and family. Often, the wedded couple is not present at the cocktail reception, and may be in another room or posing for pictures.

The cocktail music enhances the moment! Softer, upbeat, and familiar songs make the day. You can choose any musical genres you request, or leave it to the musician to mix styles. I generally play upbeat romantic songs from Sinatra to current popular songs. Beatles, Elton John, Billy Joel, Adele, and John Legend will work well with standards ( Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett). You can also make special requests for styles such as Broadway favorites, Ragtime, or light classical such as Chopin Waltzes or Debussy's Clair de Lune.

Your cocktail reception music choices set the tone for your wedding day and are a wonderful introduction to your reception meal.
